Toronto Wedding photojournalists

It is fantastic when you find people to align with, people that have the same attitudes towards their craft as you do. I am proud to be part of an alliance of sorts. An alliance that holds dear the true essence of photojournalism. Tim Forbes, Scott Willams and I put together the Toronto Wedding Photojournalists, a group of photographers who understand the value of a photograph, and how to capture a moment.

The dictionary definition of Photojournalism is “the art or practice of communicating news by photographs”. Photojournalism isn’t really a “style” it is an attitude, an intuition, a intuition that has to be listened to in order to perfect this craft. All 3 of us have done extensive training under some of the best wedding photojournalists in the world. To hone this skill to create photographs that evoke emotion, and simply put, enable the viewer to know what is happening in a “moment in time” (as cheesy as that sounds, It’s the truth). They aren’t snapshots, these images are crafted, and planned.

We don’t interfere with the day, we are there to observe and document the wedding day as it happens – artfully. The day as you remember it and as it actually happened – it just makes sense. Really, why would a photographer interfere to the point that it no longer resembles how you remember it? and no longer as the events actually happened, but how the photographer wanted them to happen. I am not sure why any couple would want a fabricated record of such an important day – your wedding day.
