Bio

It's been said that I "just see things differently” and I think that's very true. I'm an observer, a fan of relationships. I love watching the dynamics between people, the play of light and shadow and I love to capture the moments that are often overlooked.

I think that is why I love photography so much. I can offer a different perspective on a wedding day, capturing the things that seem insignificant now but will gain importance over time. It excites me to think that I am creating compelling images for people. I love capturing unexpected, unique moments in time so that you can recreate, relive and re-experience one of the biggest days of your life.

I have always been amazed at the power of a photograph. There is value in them, a value that becomes greater over time. I love being a part of that legacy.

Things that I love: My wife and daughter, great Thai food, a well put together film, a pint with friends, Volkswagen’s and going to my Mom’s for Sunday dinner.

Favorite pastimes: Going to concerts, making dinner with my wife, laughing with my beautiful daughter, mountain biking, traveling, and of course walking around with a camera in my hand.

Favorite bands: To be honest it changes constantly, but the bands that are always close at hand are Sigur Ros, Muse, Mew, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Phoenix, along with many others.

Where am I from? I was born and raised here in Kitchener Waterloo.

Daina and Barry | Engagement session | Kitchener, Ontario

This session was a significant one to me, Daina and Barry and I know all the reasons. But one of them is that we took the majority of the session at one of my favorite locations. Now that location doesn’t exist, they tore down the all the great old buildings on that city block in the interest of a parking lot (I believe) disappointingly short sighted in my opinoion. At the risk of sounding cliché, one of the other reasons is that Daina, and Barry are just so open and real. Real people, that I am privileged to photograph, it was an honor. I really loved working with you, and I looking forward to being your wedding photographer in September.
